Start where you are

§ 01 — The entrance

Three doors. One is for the first hour, one is for the completionist, one is for the story. All of them are safe except the third.

One shift, start to lever

§ 02 — The narrative

The game tells its story in weather, machinery and paper. This is the shape of a run, from the first walk across the yard to the lever you pull at the end.

05:40The yard

Arrival

Snow, a cableway, a red hut and a pile of potatoes taller than both. Nobody explains the job. The loudspeaker assumes you already know it.

The cut

A knife, a wooden board, a bucket. The first hundred potatoes are a lesson in how much skin is too much. The game calls it waste; the yard calls it lunch.

11:00The machines

The line

A hopper, a water channel, a peeling machine, a crane with a grapple. The work does not disappear. It moves into steel, and you become the person who feeds it.

The storm

The cold arrives as a scripted event, and with it a flamethrower you did not buy. The yard changes shape under snow. So does the pile.

The levers

A key, a train, three levers. One goes to the Northern Front, one to Western Industry, one to Varenka. Your son is on one of those lines.

The index

§ 04 — All entries

Start at the top and work down, or jump straight to the machine that is currently ruining your run. Every page is written against build 1.0.2.

The first ten minutes, the controls, and the one mistake that wastes an hour.

The work

Peeling technique, quota math, shift structure and the habits that keep a run clean.

03

The upgrade ladder, every machine in the yard, and how to build a pipeline that runs itself.

04

Endings & story

Three levers, five ending achievements, the letters, and the dog. Spoilers are gated.

Patch notes, troubleshooting, speedrun routes and the vocabulary of the plant.

Questions from the yard

§ 06 — FAQ
What is Potato Please?
Potato Please is a first-person potato-peeling game with physics, Soviet-era atmosphere, dark humour and an incremental automation loop. You peel a finite pile, buy better tools, and finish the quota.
How long does it take to finish?
Community reports cluster around 3–5 hours for one run. The main achievement guide estimates 4–5 hours to 100% with one playthrough plus ending reloads. The developer has not published a length.
How many endings are there?
Three levers produce three main endings. A fourth ending achievement, Your Own Executioner, is a variant of the Varenka ending and the only missable one. No Escape and Unauthorized Passenger are hidden story beats, not endings.
Is Potato Please multiplayer?
No. Single-player only, with Steam Cloud, achievements, family sharing and full controller support.
Is this site official?
No. It is an independent fan manual. The only official source is the Steam store page, linked on the official site check page. We do not host or sell the game.
Why do some pages say “community-documented”?
Because the developer has not published that information. We mark it rather than presenting it as fact, so you can judge how much to trust it.
Unofficial fan manual

Independent, unofficial, and written by people who peeled the pile. We separate developer statements from community reports, and we do not publish numbers the developer has not released.
